A New Chapter for the Arizona Filipino Community: Welcome to the Honorary Philippine Consulate in Chandler

For many years, Filipinos in Arizona have relied primarily on consular outreach missions and the Consulate General in Los Angeles to access essential Philippine government services. Now, a new milestone has been achieved: the Honorary Consulate of the Philippines in Chandler, Arizona has been established, bringing consular services closer to home. This is a moment to celebrate for every Filipino in Arizona — more convenience, more representation, and more of the community being heard.

What’s New: The Honorary Consulate in Chandler

  • The Honorary Consul in Arizona is Ms. Jenny Lynn M. Ho-Vijungco, appointed in July 2025. 
  • The office is located at 1940 W. Chandler Boulevard, Suite D2, Chandler, Arizona, 85224. 
  • It operates under the supervision of the Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles, which continues to have jurisdiction over all of Arizona.

What Services Will Be Provided

While not a full-service consulate general, the Honorary Consulate will offer a number of important, more localized services:

  • Consular notarization of documents — getting documents authenticated locally rather than traveling to LA. 
  • Mortuary certificates — helpful in situations involving passing of loved ones. 
    Emergency travel documents — for urgent travel needs. 
  • Assistance to distressed Filipinos — whether legal, logistical, or in emergency circumstances. 

This presence fills a gap: many of the standard consular services (passport renewals, dual citizenship applications, civil registry matters, etc.) will still primarily be handled via the LA Consulate or through outreach missions. But having a more permanent, local point of contact means quicker response times and less travel burden.

What It Doesn’t (Yet) Cover & What to Keep in Mind

  • This is an honorary consulate, meaning that while it has significant authority in certain areas, it does not fully replace the Consulate General in LA. Some services still require traveling or coordinating with LA.
  • Appointments, service hours, and which services are available will likely be limited compared to a full consular general’s office.
  • For most citizens’ paperwork (like passports, dual citizenship processing, or more complex legal / civil registry items), the main LA Consulate or mobile outreach missions will remain vital.
